Introducing Dr. Timm

April 24th, 2017

Greetings, and welcome to the blog for Middle Tennessee Acupuncture! I plan to add to the blog regularly about a wide variety of topics related to Chinese medicine, lifestyle, philosophy, and improving health in general, so please stop by the website periodically to check out the latest post! Let me tell you a little more about myself: I come from a small farming town in Ohio, and decided to become a chiropractor at age fourteen when an electrical shock rendered me nearly unable to walk due to severe muscle spasms, and within a week of seeing a chiropractor for the first time for that shock, I was able to walk normally and return to school. Fast forward a few years, and after I received my Bachelor's degree from Excelsior College, I then graduated from the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, in 2006. I then moved to Nashville to open my own practice. After nearly five years of practice, I was forced to close my practice due to new health issues, and after trying nearly everything else to get well (including several surgeries), as a last resort I began receiving acupuncture treatments. Those treatments turned my entire life around for the better, and I also fell in love with Traditional Chinese Medicine. I soon realized I wanted to spend the rest of my career helping other people achieve better health through acupuncture, and after an additional two years of school, as well as passing the Acupuncture Board exam, I opened Middle Tennessee Acupuncture in late 2016. I couldn't be happier doing what I'm doing now, and feel very strongly that my personal experience with health problems and acupuncture helps me to be more understanding and compassionate towards my patients. In addition to receiving regular chiropractic care and acupuncture to help maintain my health, I also eat an extremely clean, anti-inflammatory diet, something that's not always easy to do while also maintaining a busy practice and being a busy mommy to my precious son, so I definitely walk the same walk that I talk about with my patients.  My goal is to help bring Traditional Chinese Medicine into the mainstream and not be the "last resort" for so many people, which will create even more success stories for patients overall, and I hope that you'll join me on that journey! I look so forward to meeting you!
